OK...I have a newly designed panohead, a high quality digital camera, and plenty of time on my hands. The only thing I didn't have is something I wanted to photograph.
I travelled around the Las Vegas area scouting around and nothing appealed to me. I drove out to a large uninhabited area where rain water washes through filtering debris before flowing into Lake Mead. There was a lot of odd things in this flat plain area...I saw a ripped parachute, a few overturned grocery carts, and smashed dinette chairs.
I finally saw something that interested me, a small pile of romance books...I didn't think it would make a nice picture, especially if you break down what my subject is... "I'm photographing trash!"
The sun was starting to set and I knew that I had a few minutes to snap off 4 shots and bring something home...to my surprise I like it.
